At Grinnell, students can explore various ways to positively impact their communities—personally, professionally, and civically. The Civic Education and Innovation team in the CLS provides hands-on learning experiences that help students build the skills and insights needed to become creative, equity-focused civic leaders. Individual civic priorities may take many forms: some students may volunteer to address immediate needs, while others might focus on long-term solutions, analyze systems, or advocate for key causes. By reflecting on how their civic roles intersect and align with others working on the same issues, students are empowered to see how their unique contributions can be an intentional part of broader systemic change.
