If you’re considering optometry and looking for shadowing and mentoring, the Association of Schools and Colleges of Optometry have a new program to support your career goals! The Eye Opener Program is designed to connect students who are curious about optometry with practicing eye doctors. It’s a student-engagement program—only better. Because, just by answering a few questions about your goals and hobbies, we’ll match ODs with like-minded students.
How it works:
STEP 1: Sign up for the Eye Opener program.
STEP 2: Answer quick questions about why optometry interests you, your hobbies, etc.
STEP 3: We’ll match students with a short list of eye doctors who have similar answers – students select the OD they’d like to be their mentor. Both students and ODs will be given a discussion guide to help get the conversation started.
