The end of the semester is in sight and a well-deserved break is in your future. If you’re looking for ways to stay connected to these fields and work toward career goals in this area before classes resume in January, here are a few ideas:
- Investigate summer research opportunities: many applications have due dates in January and February
- Contribute to citizen science projects
- Explore Graduate Outcomes to see what past Grinnellians in your major have done
- Connect with alumni to learn about career paths after Grinnell
- Read up on the latest science news
- Dig into some great science books, like An Immense World (Ed Yong, 2022), Engangled Life (Merlin Sheldrake, 2021), Unmasking AI (Joy Buolamwini, 2023), Under a White Sky (Elizabeth Kolbert, 2022), and The Rise and Fall of the Dinosaurs (Steve Brusatte, 2019)
- Rest, relax, reflect!
The CLS is open in January and available for virtual appointments and email consultation. We look forward to supporting you in 2024 (and beyond). December grads, don’t forget: the CLS works with alumni, too.
