Internships at Google

Fantastic internship opportunities for software engineering are now open at Google.

STEP (Student Training in Engineering Program) is an internship for first and second-year undergraduate students with a passion for computer science. The program provides developmental opportunities for students from groups historically underrepresented in tech through technical training and professional development. Google’s unique internship offers the opportunity to work on a software project alongside other STEP interns and full-time Googlers, and provides the chance to bridge the gap between academics and practical professional experience. Students must be available in the United States for a 12 week, full-time internship from May to August or June to September 2024.

The Google Software Engineering Internship for third-year students offers personal and professional development, an executive speaker series, and community-building. The Software Engineering Internship program will give you an opportunity to work on computer science solutions, develop scalable, distributed software systems, and also collaborate on multitudes of smaller projects that have universal appeal. Google offers a range of internships in either Software Engineering or Site-Reliability Engineering across North America, including the US and Canada. Our recruitment team will determine where you fit best based on your resume. As a Software Engineering intern, you will work on a specific project for Google’s needs. You will design, test, deploy, and maintain software solutions as you grow and evolve during your internship.
Engineers create, fix, extend, and scale the code to keep it working, driving reliability and performance on a massive scale. You will work on software development projects to keep important business-critical systems up and running, from code-level troubleshooting of traffic anomalies to maintenance of services, and monitoring alerts to building automation infrastructure.
