For Students Interested in Education, Mental Health, & DEI Experiences/Careers

Grinnell 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Year students,

Are you interested in pursuing undergrad experiences and/or a post-grad career in education, mental health, and/or DEI related fields? If so, please schedule an appointment via Handshake with me, Chad Berman, the Director of the Education Professions + Career Community in Grinnell College’s Center for Careers, Life, and Service!

I counsel and advise students and alumni about securing related undergrad experiential learning opportunities, preparing for and navigating the graduate school application process, preparing for and managing a job search campaign, identifying pathways to licensure (traditional and alternative), and identifying relevant gap-year experiences. Furthermore, I also offer resume, cover letter, and other application material editing, support, and guidance.

I offer individual meetings for 1-1 support, as well as group events and workshops, such as my upcoming Careers in Mental Health Alumni Workshop series, in which Grinnell alums working in the psychology, counseling, social work, and related fields will offer professional perspectives, insight, and advice on mental health careers and pathways to current Grinnell students.

If you are interested in education, mental health, and/or DEI, you can schedule an appointment via Handshake or email me at
