Policy Innovation Internship Fall 2023 – United States of Care
United States of Care (USofCare) is a non-partisan non-profit organization on a mission to ensure that everyone has access to quality, affordable health care regardless of health status, social need, or income. We champion fair and commonsense policy changes to meet people’s urgent needs: the certainty that their health care will be affordable, that their coverage will be dependable and there when they need it, that their health care is personalized, and that the system is easy to understand and navigate.….”

Potential projects may include assisting with research and product development for USofCare’s people-centered priorities, specific to maternal and child health policies and informal/family caregivers policies; and supporting execution of innovation solution tables–gatherings of diverse groups of stakeholders, from people to policymakers to private sector leaders, who come together to innovate on solutions to address people’s health care needs. During the internship, each intern is encouraged to take advantage of local and virtual health care and networking events and to bring their learnings back to share with the team….

“Duties:

Conduct research corresponding to USDA’s programs.
Knowledge and passion for civil rights and equal opportunity issues.
Help with brainstorming sessions.
Gather, organize, and analyze data.
Create presentations and reports with findings.
Try to find possible reasons for farmers’ barriers to USDA’s programs and brainstorm possible
solutions.

Assists the Teaching Materials Designer to create teaching materials such as slide shows and student worksheets that are visually engaging and user-friendly. Build graphics bank library and review teaching materials with a diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) lens, sourcing images, for example, authentically represents a variety of races, gender identities, ethnicities, etc.
