Xonzy Gaddis Dec. ’22 is in Lexington, KY, this summer working as a Paralegal Intern for Micah Legal, a sliding scale, nonprofit civil law firm that provides affordable access to justice to Fayette County citizens. This summer she has been tasked with leading three free walk-in legal clinics held across Fayette County that will serve to provide legal consultations to vulnerable populations in the community. Her first one is scheduled for mid-July at the Northside Branch Library. Additionally, Xonzy assists attorney-client appointments by translating for Spanish-speaking clients and attends court hearings to shadow attorneys. Xonzy also strengthens Micah Legal’s case management database by updating cases as necessary. On top of this, Xonzy ensures that Micah Legal maintains a strong social media presence by initiating a social media campaign meant to educate the online community on Micah Legal’s services.
