Here are some resources to help you get and stay LinkedIn.

LinkedIn Learning

Skills-based hiring prioritizes job candidates who can demonstrate an array of transferable skills in their application materials. On campus in early March 2026, Leslie Lemire, Manager, Global Client Insights & Analytics at Indeed.com, referenced the top ten skills employers seek, calling the list that includes communication skills, leadership, collaboration, and mentoring, the “foundational elements of a liberal arts education.” One way to showcase a strong skillset is to complete courses and certifications through LinkedIn Learning.

From business communications to project management, from social media marketing to leadership, from computer coding to working with artificial intelligence, LinkedIn Learning offers skills certificates developed by brand-name companies including Microsoft, Twilio, and Zendesk. When you’ve completed the certificate, your new skill set may be featured directly on your LinkedIn profile.

LinkedIn Learning courses cover even more areas—from nano courses in time management to suggestions for how to network boosting skills like how to conduct informational interviews and how to get the most from job shadowing to coding skills and accounting with Excel, LinkedIn Learning offers students more than 22,000 courses. Whether you’re a beginner or you want to fine-tune your understanding, check LinkedIn Learning.

LinkedIn Learning is free to Grinnell students. Certificates range in length from around four hours to ten or twelve. You can also develop your own learning path, save courses for later, and use AI to cultivate the best courses for your interests. The learning is self-paced, will help you hone your skills, and—perhaps most importantly—will help you develop the language to talk about what you can do.

Housekeeping: You will need to activate your LinkedIn Learning license the first time you visit. You’ll need to be inside Grinnell’s single sign-on platform. Visit GrinnellShare for complete directions.
