Internship Funding Application

This application asks for information about yourself and your internship, including:

• Details about your internship organization and supervisor
• A description of your internship organization’s field/industry and its primary mission
  • Here, we want to know about the aspect of the organization that is most directly relevant to your internship. At a small business, non-profit, or start-up, describing the organization as a whole would be appropriate. If you are part of a smaller unit or team in a large organization, though, you should tell us about that team. For instance, if you will be working in a research lab at a university, we want to hear about the specific mission of that lab.
• The work you anticipate doing with this organization—specific projects, tasks, or goals—and how the skills you’ll gain will contribute to your professional development.
• Your internship’s alignment, if any, with areas for which the CLS has dedicated gift funds.
  • You’ll see this list in the application itself; it includes areas like public service, climate justice, education, affordable housing, and more. Don’t worry if your internship doesn’t fit in any of the categories you see! There are plenty of funds with no restrictions on their use. This question just helps us match experiences with donors.

  • This includes details about your internship organization, supervisor, and planned work. Some of it duplicates information you’ll provide on the application, but needs to come from your supervisor.
