The CLS is excited to present several opportunities for Grinnellians to learn about careers in climate and connect with alumni & innovators in this space.
Tuesday, April 8:
- Community Workshop: Mapping Justice | Co-Designing Solutions for Climate and Digital Equity
- Noon, Drake Community Library
- With Monica Sanders, Grinnell’s inaugural Social Innovator in Residence
- Community members will collaborate on developing maps and visual storytelling tools to highlight environmental and digital justice issues.
- Science, Engineering & Sustainability student-alum virtual meetup

- Featuring alumni:
- Avery Barnett ’21 (physics, technology studies, environmental studies), Princeton University PhD candidate in public affairs with a concentration on science, technology & environmental policy
- Jonathan Gilmour ’19 (computer science), data scientist at Harvard focusing on human health impacts of climate change and the environmental impacts of AI and data centers
- Sachiko Graber ’12 (physics), founder of Waxwing Consulting LLC and former Associate Director for Climate with The Nature Conservancy

- Alex Reich ’11 (biology), Director of Research and Impact for Planetary Solutions at Yale University and former National Academies Program Officer and YouTube science communicator (joining virtually)
