Virtual externship for 2 co-externs, March 2026
This externship experience will provide:
- Advice on the nature of graduate study in a variety of design fields including architecture, urban design and planning, sustainable design, interior design and landscape architecture
- Direct experience of the graduate design studio experience
- The opportunity to hear from and interview practicing professionals
- Advice on the nature of careers in design fields
Bio: After graduating from Grinnell, recurring externship host Curt Lamb (he/him) earned a Master of Architecture degree at Harvard and a Ph.D. in political science from Yale. Curt has taught at a number of institutions of higher education, including, Wellesley and the University of Connecticut and published books in political science and design. In addition, Curt has worked at a number of major Boston architecture firms, and with his wife established Pierce Lamb Architects, a mid-size architectural practice with a broad base of governmental, institutional and private clients. Following his time in architectural practice, Curt served for 20 years as Director of Education at the Boston Architectural College. Curt has taught architecture studies in all segments of the program and managed architecture, landscape architecture and interior design professional programs. Most recently, Curt developed new low-residency and on-line master’s degrees in sustainable design and historic preservation.
