As an Anti-Money Laundering Analyst, you will:
Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough analysis of customer transactions and account activity to identify potential instances of money laundering, terrorist financing, or other illicit activities.
- Review and investigate alerts generated by the bank’s AML monitoring systems, ensuring timely resolution and escalation of suspicious activity.
- Perform enhanced due diligence (EDD) on high-risk customers and transactions, including politically exposed persons (PEPs) and sanctioned entities.
- Prepare and file suspicious activity reports (SARs) in compliance with regulatory requirements, documenting findings and recommendations.
- Stay informed about emerging trends, typologies, and regulatory changes related to money laundering and financial crimes.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including compliance, legal, and risk management teams, to develop and implement effective AML policies and procedures.
- Assist in regulatory examinations and audits by providing documentation and supporting evidence of AML program effectiveness.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field.
- 1-3 years of experience in anti-money laundering or financial crime compliance roles.
- Knowledge of AML regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), USA PATRIOT Act, and OFAC sanctions.
- Strong analytical and investigative skills, with the ability to identify patterns and anomalies in financial data.
- Proficiency in AML software and transaction monitoring systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
- Professional certifications such as CAMS (Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist) are preferred.
