The International Sibling Society (ISS), a 501(c)(3) charitable nonprofit with partnerships across 190+ countries, is seeking Grant Writing Interns to research, identify, and write compelling grant proposals using our new ISS Grant Management Platform — a purpose-built, AI-powered system that streamlines every stage of the grant lifecycle, from opportunity discovery to submission tracking.

Key Responsibilities:
- Use the ISS Grant Management Platform to search, filter, and identify grant opportunities matched to ISS programs
- Conduct in-depth research on funders, including giving priorities, eligibility requirements, and past grantees
- Draft compelling grant proposals, letters of inquiry, executive summaries, and project narratives
- Tailor proposal language to align with each funder’s mission, priorities, and application requirements
- Collaborate with program staff to gather data, impact stories, and supporting documentation
- Track submission deadlines and application status using the Platform’s Submission Pipeline
- Assist with grant reporting for previously awarded grants
- Maintain organized records of all grant applications and funder correspondence in the Platform
- Support the AI Grant Matching Assistant to refine grant opportunity recommendations

Qualifications
Required:
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a bachelor’s or master’s degree program in English, Communications, Journalism, Nonprofit Management, Public Administration, Social Work, International Relations, or related field
- Excellent written communication skills — clear, persuasive, and concise
- Strong research skills and ability to synthesize complex information into compelling narratives
- Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in all written materials
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work independently in a remote environment
- Genuine passion for social impact, global equity, and the UN Sustainable Development Goals
Preferred:
- Previous grant writing, fundraising, or nonprofit development experience
- Familiarity with grant databases (Foundation Directory, Candid, Grants.gov, or similar)
- Experience with CRM or grant management software
- Knowledge of nonprofit program evaluation and impact measurement
- Bilingual or multilingual skills (a plus for international funder outreach)
Position Details
Location Type: Remote (work from anywhere)
Schedule: Part-time (15–20 hours per week, flexible scheduling)
Duration: 12 weeks (with possibility of extension)
Start Date: Flexible — rolling admissions with cohort start dates in February, May, and August 2026
Compensation: Unpaid internship — eligible for CPT or OPT. Potential academic credit on your college transcript (subject to university approval).
