The Tollway is a user-fee system – no state or federal tax dollars are used to support maintenance and operations. Operations are funded by toll and concession revenues.

In support of this vision, the Data Governance Engineer will support the implementation and maintenance of the Tollway’s enterprise-wide data governance framework. This role is crucial in developing and managing the technical aspects of our data governance initiatives, ensuring data quality, protection, and compliance across the organization.
Essential Job Functions
- Design, develop, and implement technical solutions to support the enterprise data governance framework
- Create and maintain data quality rules, data lineage, and metadata management systems
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate data governance tools and processes into existing systems
- Develop and implement data protection mechanisms for sensitive information
- Assist in the creation and maintenance of enterprise information maps and data inventories
- Implement and manage data quality monitoring and reporting tools
- Support the development of data governance metrics and performance indicators
- Support Data Stewards and Data Custodians in the management of their data assets
- Participate in the evaluation and implementation of data governance technologies
Qualifications
Education (Required)
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Skills and Experience (Required)
- Three to four years of experience in data engineering, with a focus on data governance
- Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, SQL, and Java
- Experience with data quality, metadata management, and data lineage tools
- Knowledge of data protection regulations and best practices
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
