Laboratory Technician I – Paint & Coatings
Location: Cleveland, OH
Pay Rate: $22.00/hour
Duration: 4–6 week assignment, with possibility of extension
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 2:00 PM–10:30 PM | 2nd Shift

Position Overview
PPG Industries is looking for a Laboratory Technician I to support hands-on paint and coatings laboratory activities. This is a great opportunity for candidates interested in chemistry, materials science, chemical engineering, coatings, or laboratory work.
What You’ll Do
Prepare paint and coating samples by following established recipes/formulations.
Measure and mix raw materials to create paint samples (“check mixes”).
Perform basic laboratory/bench testing.
Conduct viscosity, density cup, and other basic coating tests.
Record and document test results accurately.
Follow laboratory procedures, safety guidelines, and instructions.
Work with paint, coatings, and related chemical materials.
Prepare samples generally ranging from 1–2 gallons.
Occasionally handle 5-gallon pails weighing approximately 50 lbs.
What We’re Looking For
Some hands-on laboratory, chemistry, materials, paint, or coatings experience.
Ability to follow recipes, procedures, and written instructions carefully.
Comfortable working with paint/coating materials and performing hands-on mixing and testing.
Good attention to detail and ability to accurately record results.
Ability to safely perform occasional lifting of approximately 50 lbs.
Paint/coatings experience is strongly preferred and will receive priority consideration.
