TASKS OF THE POSITION
- Ensure a high level of internal and external customer service. Investigate (and correct) customer issues and complaints relating to quality.
- Develop and analyze statistical data and product specifications to determine standards and to establish quality and reliability of finished products.
- Provide technical and statistical expertise to teams.
- Apply total quality management tools. FMEA, PQCT, Operation Standards, Procedures.
- Lead, participate and support activities within the Plant, to include 5S, Kaizen, Quick Hits, Six Sigma, and other related continuous improvement events.
- Oversee and improve the established calibration and testing program.
- Planning and implementing Validation Testing for major process/material changes or New Model.
- Root Cause Analysis using Honda 5P process.
- Poke-Yoke, Error Proofing design and implementation
- Other duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
- Possess: priority/time management, problem solving, conflict resolution, organization, and judgment.
- Ability to determine root causes of operating errors and determining effective countermeasures.
- Ability to understand and evaluate Statistical Process Control.
- Demonstrate effective interpersonal skills to promote and sustain positive internal and external relationships.
- Demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills to compose and/or edit written materials.
- Stay informed of current practice developments within the profession and training opportunities to ensure continual professional competence.
- Able to work with minimal supervision
- Support the organization for ISO 9001 & 14000 audit.
- Assist the management team and provide Quality Control support.
- Hands on and working knowledge required of each station/area.
- Computer skills with experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), MiniTab
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Safety apparel (PPE) and uniform mandatory.
- Must be able to continuously lift 30 to 75 lbs., and occasionally carry a distance of 30 to 50 feet.
- Tasks that require continuous reaching, kneeling, grasping, twisting, bending, leaning and extension of upper body.
- Perform job requirements of a Production Associate as needed.
- Work assigned shift to include overtime, up to and including production Saturdays, shutdown days, and holidays as needed.
- Lead and support all company policies including ISO 9001 2008/ISO 14000 and QOS adherence (where applicable) and MAI Companies’ (GLA, GSA, IA) Associate Handbook and Safety Manual.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
Is responsible for the overall management, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Carries out management responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
QUALIFICATION (EDUCATION / TRAINING)
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or a related technical field and equivalent 2-5 years of work experience in Quality Control or experience in a manufacturing environment.
