The Mass General Brigham Department of Emergency Medicine’s Division of Clinical Research is seeking several highly motivated individuals to assist with ongoing clinical research in a variety of cutting-edge research projects, including but not limited to infectious disease, neurology, cardiovascular critical care, digital health innovations, behavioral health emergencies, advanced care planning, point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS), and incorporation of artificial intelligence in medicine,.The incumbent will be responsible for screening, recruiting, and performing study procedures in the emergency department, inpatient units, ICUs, endoscopy suites, and/or outpatient facilities.
Incumbent will rotate between Brigham and Women’s Hospital, an academic medical center, and Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital, a community hospital.
Some overnight coverages may be required as dictated by study protocols. There will be weekend shifts about once a month.
This position is ideal for someone interested in pursuing graduate studies or a career in the fields of medicine, public health, or clinical research. It involves extensive patient interaction as a member of a clinical research team.

Summary
Following established policies, procedures, and study protocols, provides assistance on clinical research studies, including recruiting, evaluating, and consenting patients for studies; collecting and organizing patient data; scheduling patients for study visits; performing clinical tests such as phlebotomy, EKGs, ultrasounds, etc.; maintaining and updating data generated by the study.

Essential Functions
-Reviews proposals for compliance with sponsor and organizational guidelines; verify all sponsor requirements are met.
-Recruiting patients for clinical trials, conducts phone interviews.
-Verifies the accuracy of study forms and updates them per protocol.
-Prepares data for analysis and data entry.
-Documents patient visits and procedures.
-Assists with regulatory binders and QA/QC Procedures.
-Assists with interviewing study subjects.
-Assists with study regulatory submissions.
-Collect, process, and store samples as required.

Experience
Some relevant research project work 0-1 year preferred

Additional Experience
- EMT/Medical Assistant experience preferred.
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English is preferred. Incumbent will need to pass Qualified Bilingual Staff examination upon starting the position.
- Medical Scribe experience using Epic preferred.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably obtained within the last year. Those with a medical degree may be considered.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is strongly preferred but not required (proved by completing a Qualified Bilingual Staff test during onboarding).
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Strong computer literacy, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Experience with REDCap, statistical analyses, or current EMT certification is a plus.
