The Boston University African American & Black Diaspora Studies Program is seeking a full-time Program Coordinator to provide event, communication, and administrative support to the Program.This position supports the Program Administrator and Director, as well as the larger African American & Black Diaspora Studies undergraduate major/minor and graduate program. In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with program events and communications, facilitating course scheduling, providing academic support, working with student employees, and maintaining our program office/building logistics. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree Experience in an academic setting preferred Demonstrated interest in African American & Black Diaspora Studies Experience with Canva, WordPress, Hootsuite, and Mailchimp Committed to undergraduate student development and outreach Proficiency in MS Office 365, Zoom, and Adobe Pro Strong organizational and computer skills Desired candidates must be professional, highly organized, diligent and who approach their work with positivity and enthusiasm. We strongly encourage candidates who are upbeat, have a positive attitude, and a demonstrated interest and/or past experience with African American &Black Diaspora Studies to apply. Required Skills

The following job-specific skills and competencies are preferred: Bachelor’s degree with 1-3 years of experience Experience prioritizing working in an environment with multiple and conflicting interests Experience communicating effectively (in writing and verbal) with various stakeholders such as faculty, fellows, and visitors Proven project and/or program management skills Experience working independently with minimal supervision Experience handling complex and confidential information with discretion.
