Free Health Literacy Conference for Undergrads

Preparing for a career in medicine involves more than mastering the sciences. The IHA National Pre-Med Health Literacy Conference offers a valuable professional development opportunity to explore the communication skills, patient-centered approaches, and health literacy concepts that are increasingly recognized as essential to effective healthcare practice.

This free, virtual conference brings together physicians, medical students, health literacy experts, and undergraduate students to discuss topics such as patient communication, digital health misinformation, and strategies for helping patients better understand and navigate healthcare information. Participants will gain practical insights that can strengthen their preparation for medical school and future clinical experiences.

In addition to learning from healthcare professionals, attendees will hear from fellow pre-med students about experiences that have shaped their understanding of patient care, communication, and service. Whether you’re exploring medicine for the first time or actively preparing for the application process, this conference provides an opportunity to broaden your perspective and develop skills that will serve you throughout your healthcare career.

The conference will be held on Saturday, October 3. Students interested in attending cand find additional details and registration information on the IHA website.
