The Association of American Medical Colleges has issued a press release and statement of impact in response to the Supreme Court’s decision on race-conscious admissions. As an employee of Grinnell College and a member of the National Association of Advisors for the Health Professions, I remain committed to the ensuring that all applicants have access to the resources and support necessary to successfully navigate the path to medical or professional school. Further, I affirm the importance of a diverse healthcare workforce to address our nation’s health inequities and practitioner workforce shortages. I will be attending a national town hall for prehealth advisors this fall and will host a career community event to update students on the current status of holistic review in medical school admissions.
