USC Pre-Med Academy accepting applications!

The application for the online USC Pre-Med Academy is now open!

Offered free of charge through USC Bovard Scholars, the USC Pre-Med Academy is designed for high-achieving college students, nationwide, who have financial need and lack the resources needed to succeed in the highly competitive medical school application process. Our support is provided in addition to the support they are receiving on their journey to medical school.  We work with students by encouraging them to utilize the resources on their home campus, while also tapping into our free MCAT prep course, guest speaker panels, and peer support from around the nation.

Our flexible, fully online program, offered at no cost, is customized to recognize students’ strengths, connect them with peers, and guide students toward success in the medical school admissions process. We invite pre-medical students from colleges across the U.S., who are interested in support as they navigate the complex medical school admissions process to apply.

Eligibility:

  • Two to three years away from applying to medical school
  • Currently hold a 3.5 GPA or above
  • Demonstrates financial need
  • First-generation and Pell-eligible
  • Committed to pursuing medicine

If selected, each scholar will receive support with medical school preparation including:

  • One-on-one mentorship from a medical school admissions expert
  • Free MCAT test prep
  • Nationwide peer community connections
  • Access to medical students, practicing physicians, and medical school faculty and staff
  • Complete application support—from the personal statement, and letters of recommendation to school selection and interviewing
  • Relevant workshops and guest speaker event opportunities

Our program begins in August 2023, and support continues throughout the pre-med planning, application, and decision-making process.

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, and space is limited, so we encourage students to apply early for the best chance of admission.  We will continue accepting applications until our class is full, or no later than April 30, 2023, whichever occurs first.
