Endeavors Wilderness & Wellness, LLC will be offering wilderness first aid training at the Adventure Program Center, State Gym on ISU Campus in Ames on September 24-25 from 8 am – 5pm both days.
Fast paced and hands-on, this two-day course covers a wide range of wilderness / remote medicine topics for people who travel or work in the outdoors. Whether spending time in the backcountry is your passion, profession, or your job requires you to work in a remote setting, you should never have to ask, “What do I do now?”
During this course, you’ll learn how to prepare for the unexpected. In just two days, you’ll have the knowledge, skills and ability to make sound decisions in emergency situations. This course is ideal for trip leaders, camp staff, outdoor enthusiasts and individual in remote locations.
Endeavors Wilderness & Wellness has worked with various outdoor groups such as: Boy Scouts, Outdoor Recreation Programs, Climbing/Hiking Organizations, University ROTC, ACA Kayak Instructors, University Natural Resource/Forestry/Environmental Studies students, and Outdoor Enthusiasts.
If you are interested in becoming Red Cross certified in CPR/AED and Wilderness First Aid, call the Adventure Program office, ISU at 515-294-8200 between 2-7 pm to register or contact Mike Anderson at 641-990-6582 or by email at mairish14@gmail.com and he will get you directed where to sign up. Registration will begin August 22.
Cost:
CPR / AED (3 hrs) = $50.00 ea.
Wilderness First Aid (16 hrs) = $175.00 located at Iowa State University Outdoor Adventure Center, State Gym
WFA will include a copy of manual. Must be CPR certified and at least 14 years of age to take WFA.
